A Cannon County man was seriously injured and airlifted Thursday when he lost control of the pickup he was driving and slammed into a tree.

Jason Arnold, 43, is currently under treatment at Erlanger Medical Center in Chattanooga. An update has not been provided on his condition.

The accident occurred on Manchester Highway at the entrance to Country Club Estates at approximately 3 p.m. State Trooper Joseph VanBommel responded.

“Mr. Arnold was traveling inbound on Manchester Highway when he veered to the right and left the roadway,” said VanBommel. “The cause of the wreck is under investigation and charges are pending. Until the investigation is complete, I can’t comment further.”

The Chevrolet Silverado jumped the ditch next to the subdivision entrance, traveled up an embankment, crashed through a fence, and was stopped by a tree.

A witness reported that Arnold didn’t apply the brakes and seemed to be “having a medical issue or something.”

Warren County Emergency Medical Services, assisted by Morrison Fire and Rescue Department, removed Arnold from the wreckage and transported him from the scene to a field beside Warren County High School. He was taken to Erlanger by Life Flight.
