Failure to yield caused a vehicle collision Wednesday morning at the intersection of Highway 70 bypass and Three Star Mall, according to McMinnville Police Department.

Police Lt. Bo Hutchins says Jessie Dodson, 23, inaccurately determined who was allowed to go first at the intersection.

“Dodson was heading west (inbound) on 70 coming up on the intersection of Mall Drive,” said Hutchins.

Dodson, a White County resident, was driving a 2014 Ford Focus. He attempted a left turn in the direction of Three Star Mall and entered the path of a 1999 Chevrolet Tahoe driven by Jamie Elmer, 47, of Warren County.

“Emler was eastbound on 70 and he was proceeding through the intersection at Mall Drive,” said Hutchins. “Both drivers had a green light, but no arrow. Dodson made a left turn into Emler’s path and a collision occurred.”

Both drivers and Dodson’s passenger, Warren County resident Cecilla Manuel, 22, sustained minor injuries. All three were transported by Warren County EMS to Ascension Saint Thomas River Park Hospital.

Hutchins issued Dodson a citation for failure to yield, and Emler was cited for not having vehicle insurance and driving on a revoked license.
