Main Street will be down to one lane next to the Security Federal lawn during Main Street Live concerts beginning June 11 with a performance by Forever Abbey Road, a Beatles tribute band.

Lane closures have been approved for the 2021 Main Street Live summer concert series. Music begins Friday, June 11.

McMinnville’s Board of Mayor and Aldermen has been asked to support for the 17th annual concert series by providing waste containers, weekly trash pick-up, and construction barrels to protect attendees from passing motorists.

“We are requesting the city’s support of the event by providing 12 roll-out waste containers with weekly pick-up and 35 orange construction barrels that will be used to block off the driveways into the area and part of the road to create a safety barrier between traffic and the attendees,” as written by Main Street McMinnville interim director Mary Don Bixby.

The concert series is offered on the West Lawn of Security Federal Savings Bank, located between Main and Morford streets. Up first on June 11 will be Forever Abbey Road, a Beatles tribute band, at 7 p.m. Vendors open at 6 p.m.

On the Main Street side of the bank in the area of the lawn, the city shuts down both the left and right lanes and funnels traffic down the center lane of Main Street during concerts. A pedestrian crosswalk is established. Assisting in that effort are McMinnville Public Works Department and McMinnville Police Department.

McMinnville officials unanimously approved the request from Main Street McMinnville to support this year’s concert series, as well as the lane closures.
