Magness Library will reopen with limited services, while following COVID-19 and social distancing guidelines.

“Because of the uncertain times we are going through, there are going to be limitations on what we can do,” said Magness Library director Brad Walker. “We hope everyone understands we are trying to do what’s best for our employees and for the community.”

The reopening schedule release:

The library will open for curbside service Monday, May 4. Books, DVDs and audiobooks may be reserved using the library’s online catalog. The catalog is accessible by computer or tablet only. The system cannot be accessed by smartphones. If you have difficulty with the online catalog you may call the library at 473-2428 and a librarian will help you.

Limited computer access is currently scheduled to begin May 11 but that date is subject to change. Initially only six computers will be available and you must call the library to schedule an appointment.  Sessions will be limited to 50 minutes once a day. Times are Monday thru Friday 9 a.m. to 2 p.m. and Saturday 9 a.m. to 1 p.m. Due to the limited number of computers and appointment times available the library is initially asking only people with Unemployment Claims, Social Security or similar critical items reserve times.

For the time being, the library will not be providing general photocopies or faxes.
