A man was arrested on his birthday for two burglary charges with the help of surveillance footage.

Matthew Meeks and Marquis Martin reported to deputies at the Warren County Sheriff’s Department that Brandon Eugen Locke, 37, burglarized two vehicles. Deputies Vince Cooley and Hunter Bouldin made contact with the victims on Starlight Road.

Cooley said, “Both victims advised that the suspect, Mr. Brandon Locke, was currently inside of a mobile home located on the property. Deputy Bouldin located Mr. Locke inside of his mobile home. Mr. Locke was confronted about the vehicle burglary but denied any knowledge of the incident.”

Cooley and Bouldin made contact with the victims again who allegedly advised that Locke was observed on camera going inside the vehicles. Cooley allegedly observed on the video a man wearing the same clothing that Locke was wearing enter the vehicles. Bouldin was reportedly granted consent from Locke to search around the mobile home.

When Bouldin questioned Locke about a large object concealed under a blanket, “Mr. Locke admitted to it being the stolen items.” As Cooley was trying to place Locke under arrest, “Mr. Locke refused all commands to stop resisting and actively resisted being placed in handcuffs.” The deputies reportedly took Locke to the ground to gain control of the subject where Locke allegedly continued to actively resist and refused to place his hands behind his back.

Meeks reportedly advised Deputy Cooley that a car speaker, the speaker box, and amplifier were stolen from his vehicle, valued at approximately $450. Meeks also reportedly advised Cooley that a piece of his trunk was vandalized and removed from the vehicle.

Martin advised Cooley that his vehicle had also been burglarized. According to Cooley, “Mr. Martin stated after checking his vehicle, five dollars cash was missing from the center console under the radio.”

Deputy Cooley reportedly observed Locke on surveillance footage located in front of the residence where Meeks and Martin’s cars were located. According to Cooley, a male subject matching Mr. Locke’s description at approximately 12:01 a.m. entered Mr. Martin’s vehicle with a flashlight before entering Mr. Meeks’ soon after.

According to Cooley, “That same subject was also observed leaving Mr. Meeks’ vehicle with a large wooden box, consistent with the appearance of a speaker box heading towards his mobile home.”

The burglary, report, and arrest all occurred on Dec. 11, 2022. Locke was arrested for two counts of burglary on a motor vehicle, one count of vandalism, and one count of resisting. He is scheduled to answer to these charges on Tuesday, Jan. 10 in General Sessions Court.

He is being held with a bond of $26,000.
