A band with McMinnville flavor will take the stage this weekend at Bert Driver’s Burlap Room in Smithville.
Plainview Vibes, a band featuring three members from Warren County, is set to perform this Saturday beginning at 6 p.m. The Burlap Room is located at 175 Hurricane Ridge Road in Smithville.
“It’s a perfect place to play,” said Jeremy McMinn, singer and guitarist for Plainview Vibes. “They always have good food trucks and good people there and usually have a bonfire going. I’ve looked on the radar and it’s supposed to be perfect weather this weekend too.”
Plainview Vibes has been playing together about three years. In addition to McMinn, the band consists of local residents Cotey Tanner on bass and Mark Young on guitar. Other members are Nashville resident Nels Noseworthy on sax and keyboards, and Hendersonville resident Jarred Good on drums.
“We play some original tunes and also some top 40 reggae tunes that everyone should know,” said McMinn. “We play other songs too that have an island vibe, some Steve Miller Band, some Shaggy, and things like that.”
The Burlap Room is a live music venue and beer garden carved from the middle of Bert Driver’s 7-acre nursery in Smithville. It’s located at the former home of the DeKalb Drive-In Movie Theater that opened in 1956. The tap house is the original concession stand from the drive-in theater.
The events are family and pet friendly. Ages 10 and younger are admitted free with a paid adult.
Tickets are $20 in advance and $25 the day of the show.
