A McMinnville father and his two sons were charged with assault last week.
Dr. Wendell Vernon McAbee, 72, Morgan Benjamin McAbee, 23 and Adam Christopher McAbee, 20, were taken into custody around midnight on Thursday, Jan. 26. Sgt. Tyler Glenn at the Warren County Sheriff’s Office took a report from a woman about an aggravated assault.
According to the warrant signed by Sgt. Glenn, “The victim stated that her husband Wendell McAbee got into a physical altercation where he pulled her hair, pushed her to the ground and put both hands around her neck.”
She also reported that two of Wendell’s sons got involved with the altercation. According to Glenn, “Also, during the altercation, Wendell V. McAbee’s two sons Adam McAbee and Morgan McAbee screamed at her and pinned her up against the wall.”
The victim reportedly did show redness and bruising around the neck. The incident occurred on Wednesday, Jan. 25, and the three were later arrested that night at their home.
Adam and Morgan were both charged with domestic assault, and Wendell was charged with aggravated domestic assault. Wendell's bond was set $15,000. Adam and Morgan's bonds were set at $3,000 each.
