Local resident Delores Curtis thought she had just won $3.5 million in the Publisher’s Clearing House Sweepstakes.Then she realized the man on the phone was trying to pull a scam.“He told me I had won and there was a $510 fee to register with the Brinks Armored Car service so the money could be delivered,” said Curtis. “He wanted me to wire the $510 to him immediately. When I told him I didn’t know where to do that, he said I could do it from Kroger here in town.
