Decorated Vietnam War veteran Art Larson Sr. will be the keynote speaker Monday morning as the community holds its traditional Memorial Day observance at Warren County Memorial Airport.
Start time is at 8 a.m.
Sgt. Major Larson served two tours in Vietnam and was bombarded by attacks from the air and ground during his two years in the jungle. He will provide his insights on the significance of Memorial Day during his speech.
American Legion Post 173 Commander Kenny Sweeton will serve as master of ceremonies. The event will include a memorial prayer by Chuck Catalfu, posting of colors, the national anthem sung by Mary Wanamaker, and reading of Warren County’s fallen war heroes by County Executive Jimmy Haley.
In traditional fashion, the ceremony will conclude with the playing of “Taps.”
