Junior Auxiliary’s annual Christmas in the Park has been ushering in the holidays since 1986. It will continue that tradition on Tuesday, Dec. 7.

“Santa Claus will be coming all the way from the North Pole and will be present for pictures,” said Junior Auxiliary member Ashley Roberts. “A bounce house and phone calls to Santa’s elves are some of the many activities children can participate in. There will be a station for ornament making that children can take home.”

The family oriented event will be held Dec. 7 from 6 to 8 p.m. in Historic Downtown McMinnville.

“During this event there will be many downtown businesses open and offering a variety of Christmas treats and drinks,” said Roberts. “There will be a tree lighting ceremony.”

Among the performances will be Paula’s Dance Academy, the Warren County High School Pioneerettes, the Warren County High School choir, Warren Arts, and more.

A luminary presentation will be announced during the event. Luminaries are $10. Anyone interested in purchasing a luminary for a friend or loved one, and/ or donating canned goods to stabilize the luminaries can contact the organization through email at, via Facebook, or any Junior Auxiliary member. Canned goods will be donated to the Warren County Emergency Food Bank after the event.

Sanitizing stations will be available throughout downtown and masks are encouraged.

Junior Auxiliary is a service organization which strives to enrich the lives of children in the community and provide family friendly events. Junior Auxiliary organizes Coats for the Community and Hopping into Health, among other activities.

“We are hoping this is our best event yet,” said Roberts.
