Snow and ice canceled classes at Warren County Schools for two days.Add gushing water to the problems at Hickory Creek Elementary.Classes were canceled at Hickory Creek on Tuesday when a broken sprinkler line left two classrooms with heavy damage and sent water flowing into the first-grade hall.“It’s a big mess that’s for sure,” said Warren County School System maintenance director Donnie Caldwell. “A major sprinkler system line blew. That’s the cause of all this.”While the rest of the school system reported two hours late due to inclement weather on Tuesday, Hickory Creek students were notified beginning around 8 a.m. that classes would be canceled for the day.“We would have had too many students displaced,” said principal Mike Mansfield.
