If you like trivia games and delicious BBQ all in the name of a good cause, Helping Animals of Warren County’s upcoming fundraiser taking place at Wild Bill’s BBQ on Sept. 25 will be just what you ordered.
HAWC is holding a new type of fundraiser in efforts to gather funds for its spay and neuter program that serves the Warren County area. For $10, guests will be treated to a BBQ dinner, access to the silent auction and entry for their Survey Time Showdown where participants can test their wit against their opponents. The game is similar to Family Feud, where answers to questions are based on the results from 100 people surveyed.
“We need all the support we can get for HAWC right now,” said HAWC president Hollie Cox. “Our funds are getting low so we’re hoping to see a really good turnout for the night.”
The itinerary for the evening includes food being served at 4:30 p.m. with the first round of Survey Time Showdown to begin at 5 p.m. A second round will follow at 6 p.m. with the auction to close at 7:40 p.m. Teams will consist of 4-8 players with children of all ages counting as a team member, but those teams who lack enough members will have stand-ins supplemented by HAWC so they are able to participate. Prizes will be awarded to the teams that place in 1st, 2nd and 3rd places.
“Just for the year 2021, HAWC has assisted with getting over 400 animals spayed or neutered,” said Cox. “We want to be able to fix many more, so we need the public’s help to get those funds up.”
Space is limited so those interested in joining in should reserve their table ahead of time. HAWC asks those wishing to reserve a table call 931-743-7666.
