Birdie the dog is happy to get a picture with Santa during an event in November at Tiger Lily Boutique. Birdie is owned by Donna Byford.

Local pets will have an opportunity to participate in the Christmas festivities with Pet Pictures with Santa.

HAWC is providing an opportunity for pet owners to bring their pets to get their picture made with Santa Claus. The pet pictures with Santa will be Saturday, Dec. 11, from 9 to 11 a.m. at Citizen’s Tri-County Bank.

“This is our fifth or sixth year doing the pet pictures. Citizens Tri-County Bank downtown has always been gracious enough to donate us their lobby and tree for the event,” said president of HAWC Hollie Cox.

Cox says she got the inspiration for the event from AARF in Cookeville and other animal rescue organizations.

“HAWC knew it was something we could do as well. We usually have about 20 to 30 pets that come for their picture. It’s not our biggest fundraiser, but it is one of the cutest ones,” said Cox.

In order to get your pet’s picture with Santa, HAWC asks for a $5 donation. Freeze Photography will be taking the pictures.

“We email the picture to the owner for them to print as many as they want. If they do not have access to email, we mail them a copy. We also will have a free gift for the critters that come as well,” she said.

HAWC stands for Helping Animals of Warren County and it’s an organization with the purpose of uniting people and organizations for the betterment of animals. HAWC provides financial and volunteer support to the county animal shelter, city of McMinnville Animal Control, Humane Society of Warren County, and other organizations or individuals in Warren County that are dedicated to helping animals.

Citizens Tri-County Bank is located at 101 W. Main Street.
