Lucky Community Improvement Club is holding its second annual Christmas in the Park this weekend on Saturday, Dec. 11.
Members of Lucky CIC offered their first Christmas event in 2020 as a way to bring cheer during a time when people might need it the most – during a pandemic.
“Last year was wonderful,” said Teresa Pedigo regarding Christmas in the Park 2020. “With COVID, we didn’t get to have the high school choir, but we had entertainment. The whole community was involved in decorating and preparing the treats to give away. We had the Bates family and they offered our live nativity scene.”
This year’s event will take place this coming Saturday night from 6 to 8 p.m.
Served will be hot chocolate and popcorn. A live nativity, again offered by the Bates family, and caroling will be available to usher in the Christmas season and provide joyful entertainment to the community. Warren County High School’s choir will be performing.
The event, as it did last year, will be a night of some socially distanced fun. The park’s size will provide plenty of room for attendees to be safe as they enjoy the sights, sounds and tasty treats offered that night. Hand sanitizer will be available.
“That’s the good part about this event being offered outside. We can social distance,” said Pedigo. “It’s only a two-hour event. Hopefully we won’t have people in close quarters. There’s enough room so that families can enjoy the event and keep safe distances from other families.”
Lucky CIC Christmas in the Park is a free event, but donations are accepted.
Lucky CIC is located at 8406 Lucky Road. Parking, which is also free, is at the ballfield.
