The weather outside will soon be frightful. If you’re looking to bundle up this winter and need a coat, Junior Auxiliary is holding its annual Coats for the Community this Saturday, Nov. 4.Coats for the Community will be held at Three Star Mall from 9 to 11 a.m.“This is a free event and winter coats will be available for people of all ages,” said Junior Auxiliary member Amanda Collier. The event started years ago as Coats for Kids. However, organizers soon realized the need for a coat extends beyond children and the outreach was opened to the entire community.Last year, over 300 coats and items such as hats, socks and sweaters were distributed. Junior Auxiliary member Paige Chastain says the coat giveaway warms her heart.“Every year we see moms, dads, grandparents and children come through to pick out coats to help keep them warm,” said Chastain.
