Free banana splits, subscription deals and door prizes offered Friday

The weather is getting hotter, which means it’s the perfect time to cool off with a free banana split.

The Southern Standard has you covered with free banana splits served at our office at 105 College Street this Friday, June 18, from 12:30 to 3:30 p.m.

Everyone who walks in the door can grab a banana split while registering for valuable door prizes like a Weber Spirit II Grill valued at $549. The grill offers state-of-the-art technology features and can be controlled with the touch of a button from your cellphone.

There will be a cooler, other small prizes, and free subscriptions given away.

For customers who want to save big, a one-year subscription to the newspaper will be discounted 25%. The cost of newsprint is soaring and other operating costs continue to rise, but the Standard is doing our best to keep our subscription prices as low as possible.

All customers who subscribe to the print edition to the newspaper are entitled to a username and password to gain full access to our website,

For those who want to download our Standard app, or go with an online-only subscription, you can get all the news delivered to your phone, tablet or computer. Online-only subscriptions will be available this Friday for the discounted rate of just $70 for the entire year. That’s just $1.34 a week.

For more information, call the Standard office at 473-2191 or stop by during our popular customer appreciation day this Friday.
