Many eyes will be on the weather forecast this weekend as Warren County residents prepare to celebrate the Fourth of July with four fireworks shows in four communities.

Community-sponsored festivities begin Friday night at Milner Recreation Center with the annual Dr Pepper Fireworks Show scheduled to begin at 9 p.m.

Thunderstorms remain in the AccuWeather forecast for Friday, although the latest forecasts show Tropical Storm Danny has weakened and is expected to have passed through the area by Saturday.

Clear skies would be a nice asset Saturday morning because a full schedule of events is planned for downtown McMinnville, including a pancake breakfast, the annual Stars and Stripes Fun Run, and the Yankee Doodle Children’s Parade.

A baby show scheduled for downtown at 11 a.m. won’t be impacted by weather because it will be held inside Park Theater.

Centertown will have an old-timers softball game, a cornhole tournament and youth games beginning Saturday at 5 p.m. before a fireworks show at 9 p.m. There will also be a contest for best patriotic outfit with the winner announced at 7 p.m.

Activities are held at Centertown Recreational Park.

Morrison will be having activities, including Bingo and live music on Saturday night. Morrison’s celebration, held downtown in and around the Morrison Ruritan building, culminates with fireworks Saturday at 9 p.m.

Midway is having the entirety of its celebration on Monday, July 5. The extended AccuWeather forecast calls for highs in the mid-80s and mostly sunny skies on Monday.

Midway will have its traditional baby show and pie contest with fireworks putting an exclamation point on the celebration Monday at 10 p.m.
