Foster parent orientation set for Thursday

Lyndsay and Michael Carr have been foster parents for about a year. They are hosting an informational seminar this Thursday at 6 p.m. at Northside Baptist Church for anyone who wants to learn more about foster parenting.
Foster parenting can be rewarding for both the parent and the child’s life they touch.“You can’t begin to understand how it feels to be able to minister to a child in the worst point of their life,” said Northside Baptist Minister and foster parent Michael Carr who is hosting a foster parent orientation at Northside Church gym Thursday from 6 to 8 p.m. “You can have an incredible impact on the child’s life.”Carr is hosting the orientation for the public and suggests anyone who may have thought about being a foster parent attend the meeting.“You can see if it’s something you may be interested in,” Carr said. “It will be a question and answer to help alleviate concerns that some potential foster parents may have.”Carr has been a foster parent for about a year. His family is among 12 Warren County foster families who are helping 84 children.“We need more foster parents,” Carr said.
