The start of a new year brings with it the birth of the year’s first bundle of joy, a bouncing baby boy.
Saint Thomas River Park Hospital welcomed the birth of Warren County’s first baby of 2020 at 3:17 p.m. on Jan. 2.
Haley King and Andy Nation welcomed their first child into the world and named him Mason. He weighed 6 pounds, 13 ounces and was 19 inches long.
The baby boy snatched the honor by arriving nine days early.
“My due date wasn’t until Jan. 11,” said King. “He decided that he was ready. I was asleep when my water broke.”
Robin Bell delivered.
Mason, among the 100 most popular names for boys, was chosen by his mother.
“I just really like the name Mason,” she said.
Grandparents are Miranda Caldwell and Willie King.
As is customary, the first baby of the year is showered with gifts from a number of local sponsors.
