On Tuesday afternoon, Director of Schools Grant Swallows released a statement regarding the arrest of a fifth student in Warren County.

“Our goal is to always keep our families informed about our school to the extent we are able. Today a student at Warren County Middle School reported that threatening language was overheard and immediately informed an adult. Action was taken that is consistent with what has happened these last few weeks. Once again, I want to say that I am proud of the reporting student for acting responsibly and our staff that handled accordingly. Like you, we are frustrated with the continued use of this type of language. To that end, in cooperation with the WCMS administration, District Attorney Stanford, Sheriff Matheny and I will be going to WCMS on Friday and speaking to all students collectively about the consequences related to this type of behavior. There is no tolerance when it comes to the safety of our students and staff. I am begging you to have that same conversation at home. We want WCMS to be a welcoming, safe environment for everyone and we all have to work together to achieve this outcome. Thank you.”
