The decision to cancel this year’s Tennessee State Fair has brought a new round of questions about what might happen to our Warren County A&L Fair.
The Tennessee State Fair Board announced this week it would not be holding a state fair for the first time since World War II due to the COVID-19 pandemic. The state fair was scheduled to be held Sept. 11-20.
Warren County’s fair has virtually the same dates. It’s scheduled to be held Sept. 11-19 and organizers have said they want to do everything possible to ensure the event takes place.
Warren County A&L Fair officials gave local residents an update Wednesday night by posting this message to the fair’s Facebook page:
“Just an update for those that are interested, the fair has NOT been canceled. We will make a definite decision by the end of July after reviewing the ever-changing recommendations and guidelines that apply to our event. We are going to have the fair if it is at all possible, but we must make sure that given the situation at that time that we can do it safely and make it financially viable. So for now, keep your fingers crossed that things improve and we can all come together and celebrate in September!”
