An inmate who escaped from a facility in Shelbyville was captured in Warren County on Thursday night after three days on the run.
Kevin Farrar was captured hiding in a tree line off Wash Roberts Road on Harrison Ferry Mountain by several law enforcement agencies, including the Warren County Sheriff’s Department and McMinnville Police Department.
According to Sheriff Jackie Matheny, information was developed from Bedford County that Farrar was in this area. When confronted by officers, he surrendered without incident. He has been transferred back to Bedford County.
Farrar was among three inmates who escaped from Bedford County Workhouse on Tuesday morning. The facility serves as a jail and prison. Andrew Marshall and Steven Mangrum also escaped, but they were arrested that morning. Farrar remained on the loose.
Authorities haven’t revealed how they think Farrar made it more than 60 miles from Shelbyville to Harrison Ferry Mountain.
There was a $1,000 cash reward offered for information leading to Farrar’s arrest. Authorities have not indicated if there is a person who will receive the reward.
