Driver charged with DUI

A wreck at the intersection of New Nashville Hwy. and West Green Hill Rd. resulted in a DUI and simple possession charge for one driver. 

According to Tennessee State Trooper Richard Teachout, at approximately 2:30 p.m. Friday, a 2005 Nissan Altima driven by Sheryl Crouch was traveling east on I-70 toward McMinnville with a 2004 Nissan Maxima driven by Brittany Mingle traveling behind her. Crouch attempted to turn onto West Green Hill Rd. and Mingle failed to slow and rear ended her. 

Both vehicles came to rest in a ditch. During the collision, the stop sign was knocked down. Teachout says Mingle was charged with a DUI, failure to wear a seatbelt and, upon an investigation of her vehicle, she was also charged with simple possession. 

Crouch was transported to Ascension Saint Thomas River Park for minor injuries.
