More roadblocks could result in the Driver Testing Center closing before the city of McMinnville can complete renovation at City Hall for its relocation.According to city administrator Bill Brock, the state is now requesting the city hire an architect to generate renovation plans and obtain approval from the state fire marshal.“They are wanting us to get an architect to generate construction documents, which we do need, but I thought they were going to provide those," said Brock. "When we get the construction documents, they want them sent to them for approval before they go to the state fire marshal’s office. You are talking about a long and drawn-out process.”Information given to both city and county officials is the drop-dead date for the Driver Testing Center on Vervilla Road to close is May 31.“I’m waiting to hear back from them because this is not exactly what we expected," said Mayor Jimmy Haley.
