A motorist who was running late for work has been charged with reckless endangerment after his car sideswiped a deputy as he was standing beside a vehicle during a traffic stop.The driver, Joshua T. Hettinger, 27, has been charged with reckless endangerment, violation of the move-over law and improper passing. The deputy, Jared Denton, was treated at River Park for a knee injury when he was knocked to the asphalt as the vehicle grazed him.According to Highway Patrolman Gary Myers, the incident happened Wednesday morning on Manchester Highway as deputy Denton was walking up to a vehicle after pulling it over. The lawman said he was knocked to the ground by the Honda as it sped past him.
