County states goal of adopting all animals
Animal-control

The county made it clear that they are in favor of the animals at Warren County Animal Control and Adoption Center all being adopted.

At the county Health and Welfare meeting Thursday night, Commissioner Blaine Wilcher stressed that the county is in no way trying to keep animals at the shelter.

“It has been asked at least once before about keeping at least some population here so that the county can come and adopt an animal. I am going to go ahead and say before I ask anyone’s opinion on it that I am 100 percent for adopting every single animal out of here and this place being empty,” said Wilcher.

Wilcher says he in favor of all animals at the shelter being adopted and sent to loving homes. He wanted to dispel the thought that the county is keeping animals at the shelter on purpose.

“You can voice your opinion if you disagree, but I don’t want Sherri to think for any minute that we don’t want her to adopt every animal out of here,” said Wilcher. “I would love it if people came down here and wanted an animal and couldn’t get one. I would love it. Matter of fact, unless someone disagrees with me, I want to put it in the form of a motion that as a committee we recommend that the Warren County Animal Control and Adoption Center adopt out as many animals as possible.”

The committee unanimously voted in favor of that motion.
