Dr. Robert Sabo is Warren County’s medical examiner and medical director.

According to County Executive Jimmy Haley, the doctor will be paid $25,000 a year for his services.

“Dr. Sabo was pretty easy to work with,” said Haley. “We also had a vacancy in the medical director’s job. We decided to combine the two jobs together. Dr. Sabo said he would do both jobs for $25,000. We wrote a letter of approval and he signed it.”

As medical examiner, his salary was $100 per death certificate signed. In 2017, that amounted to $14,000 for his services.

Haley said combining the two jobs justified an increase and a change in how he’s paid.

“Instead of paying him per body or per service, it’s going to be one salary. Dr. Sabo hasn’t decided if he wants to be paid monthly or quarterly.”

“Dr. Sabo has always been easy to work with,” said Denney.

The full Warren County Commission previously approved Sabo as the county’s medical examiner.
