Warren County Democrats will be holding a Presidential Debate Watch Party from 7 to 9 p.m. at Jalisco’s Mexican Grill.


THURSDAY, AUG. 1

There will be a preschool open house from 6 to 7:30 p.m. at Covenant Academy. There are a few spots available in some of the classrooms and they accept children 6 weeks old through preschool.


Rock Island Church of Christ will be having a clothing giveaway from 8 to 11 a.m.

The annual Laurel Creek Cemetery Decoration will be held with the business meeting beginning at 11 a.m. There will be a covered dish lunch to follow. The annual Shady Grove Picnic will be held Saturday, Aug. 10 at the picnic grounds, 4976 Shady Grove Rd. in Morrison. There will be a petting zoo and kids games from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m., bingo from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m., and homemade ice cream and concessions begin at 10:30 a.m. Field games start at 2 p.m. and the cake walk 4 p.m., live music from 4:30 to 6 p.m., and live auction at 6 p.m. For more information, call 723-8717.


Applications for the Baby Show for babies 6 months to 48 months at the Warren County A&L Fair are now available at JC Penney, Ashley’s Attic, Kathy’s Formal Wear, Southern Standard and Warren County Extension Office. Completed forms and a $30 registration fee must be postmarked by Aug. 28 and mailed to: AAUW, P.O. Box 7053, or in person Aug. 15 from 4 to 7 p.m. or Aug. 17 from 9 a.m. to 1 p.m. at Caney Fork Auditorium. No late applications will be accepted.
