APRIL 2

Warren County historian Jimmy Haley will be leading his annual guided tour of historic Riverside Cemetery in McMinnville on April 2 at 2 p.m. Guests are encouraged to park outside the gates and assemble at the front entrance to the cemetery. Those needing more information can call 931-224-8521.

APRIL 7

WCHS Project Graduation will be holding a nursery sale in the Big Lots parking lot on Fri., April 7 from 8 a.m. to 4 p.m. and Sat., April 8 from 8 a.m. to noon. All proceeds from the sale benefit the class of 2023’s Project Graduation, which provides a safe and fun-filled night for all graduates who attend. APRIL 8

A special showing of The Super Mario Bros movie will take place on April 8 at Three Star Cinema to benefit local animal control. The movie will be shown at 4 p.m. and tickets are $8 each with $2 from each ticket sale going directly to the effort. Tickets must be purchased from Hollie Cox ahead of time or directly from her at the door at the time of the showing. Additionally, tickets can be bought from Sabrina Keeton at Security Federal on Morford St. Hollie can be contacted at 931-235-8538. No refunds are available for pre-sale tickets.


APRIL 14

Brookside Head Start will be hosting a registration day on April 14 from 12 p.m. to 3:30 p.m. for all prospective students. Children aged 3-5, including those with disabilities, are accepted. Staff request those interested call 931-668-7043 ahead of time to set up an appointment.


APRIL 15

The Celtic Cup Coffee Shop will be holding its annual Piping on the Green Celtic Music and Crafts Festival on April 15 from 8 a.m. to 6 p.m. to celebrate Scotland and National Tartan Day. The event will feature the band Wild Blue Yonder as well as other musicians, crafters, Celtic food and bagpipers. Entry to the event is free, but guests are encouraged to bring their own chair. The Celtic Cup Coffee Shop is located at 106 N Anderson St in Tullahoma.


The annual meeting for Banks Cemetery in DeKalb County will be held on April 15 at 4 p.m. The meeting will take place at Banks Cumberland Presbyterian Church. All parties interested in the cemetery are invited and encouraged to attend.


Friends of the Shelters will be holding its second annual Pet Expo on April 15 from 11 a.m. to 4 p.m. at the Wayside Community Center located at 1745 Bluff Springs Rd. in Centertown. The event will feature small business vendors, food, silent auction and activities suitable for pets and kids. Proceeds from vendor booth spot sales and donations will benefit local animal control. The Warren County Genealogical & Historical Association will be holding its monthly meeting on April 15 at 2 p.m. in the early voting room of the Warren County Administrative Building. The featured program for the meeting is “From a Basement to the World! History of B&P Lamp Supply.”

The Warren County Nurse Honor Guard are volunteers of both active and retired registered nurses and licensed practical nurses who are passionate in recognizing individuals who have dedicated their live to the profession of nursing through a ceremonial activity at the request of the individual’s family. Proverbs 31 Woman in a Psalms 31 World ministry holds its Humble Beginnings Cookie Ministry meetings on the second Saturday of each month. Included in its service is the preparation and packaging of cookies that are taken to current inmates of the local jails. The meetings take place at Helping Hands Ministry located at 216 E. Main Street beginning at 10 a.m., and all attendees are asked to enter through the Heavenly Closet entrance. Donations of cookies, cookie dough and labels are always welcome contributions.
