A downtown wreck left a woman injured and the person at fault unknown.

On Monday afternoon, two vehicles collided at the intersection of E. Main Street and N. Spring Street. According to McMinnville Police Department officer Zach Little, “It’s currently undetermined what exactly happened due to conflicting stories.”

Leigh Prater, 56, was driving a white Nissan Rogue travelling eastbound on E. Main Street. Renee Burch, 41, was driving a black Ford F-150 heading southbound on N. Spring Street. Both were approaching the intersection at the same time.

The front passenger side of the Ford struck the front driver’s side of the Nissan causing front-end damage to both vehicles. Prater was transported to Ascension Saint Thomas River Park for injuries sustained in the wreck.

Officer Little said, “Both drivers claim to have had the green light.” Little told the Standard that there were no witnesses but multiple callers to dispatch.

With no witnesses, McMinnville Police is unsure who ran the red light. At this time, neither has been cited for the incident.

The accident occurred around 12:45 p.m. on Monday afternoon.
