Master plans are being obtained to revitalize Rocket Park and Pepper Branch Park.The city Parks and Recreation Committee met to consider proposals from Griggs and Maloney Inc. Engineering and Environmental Consulting to generate master plans for the two parks. It’s a process, according to information presented, that will take up to two years.According to McMinnville Parks and Recreation director Scott McCord, the city’s parks are not Americans with Disabilities Act (ADA) compliant and the study will let them know what’s needed to make them compliant, as well as develop a comprehensive vision for parkland in the community.The state is requiring all governments to make programs and services accessible to individuals with disabilities by December 2019 or risk losing gasoline taxes.
