Clerk at On the Way Market attacked

McMinnville Police Department continues to investigate the Tuesday night robbery at On the Way Market.

McMinnville Police Department is searching for a man who robbed a convenience store clerk. The incident occurred Tuesday night. 

According to Police Chief Bryan Denton, detectives within his office are investigating an armed robbery that occurred at On the Way Market located at 716 South Chancery Street.

“On Feb. 18 at approximately 9:58 p.m., officers responded to On the Way Market in reference to an armed robbery that just occurred,” said Denton. “Officers encountered the clerk who told officers that upon closing the business, he was walking to his car and an unknown male wearing a hoodie and a mask put a handgun to this head and demanded money.”

The clerk complied but was met with violence.

“The assailant took the clerk’s wallet and then struck him in the head with his weapon,” said Denton. “The assailant fled on foot. The clerk was transported to the local hospital where he was treated and released.”
