City to expand its advertising for Park

Park Theater’s balcony is open for business. The first patrons allowed in the area watched “Jaws” on July 4, the first view from the balcony since the theater closed more than three decades ago. Approximately 450 people filled the theater to see the film.McMinnville officials are considering branching out to Cookeville in their radio media coverage of Park Theater events, and upping their advertising dollars from the $20,000 designated last year to $30,000 in the upcoming fiscal year.The idea to branch out was proposed by Alderman Ben Newman during a Parks and Recreation Committee meeting to review the proposed budget for Park Theater for fiscal year 2017-18.“A lot of people here listen to the Cookeville radio station and they have a larger footprint than our local station.
