Back to school can be a stressful time for parents and one local church is stepping up to help.
Irving College Baptist Church is holding a Back to School Bash on Saturday, Aug. 1 from 10 a.m. to 1 p.m.
Given away will be backpacks, school supplies, and free haircuts. This is available to all Warren County students in grades pre-K to 12.
“We are so excited to be able to give back to our community during this difficult time,” said pastor Ryan Crips. “Church members decided earlier in the year to set aside money to be able to have this event and we know this year has made back-to-school time even more stressful than normal.”
The church will also have food for kids and parents and a variety of games. At 11:30 a.m., there will be an optional Bible study class for anyone who is wanting to join.
“Since we were not able to have a Vacation Bible School this year, we decided to have a short Bible lesson for the kids that is expected to last around 20 minutes, but it is optional,” said Crips.
Pre-registration is not required. It is set up as a first-come, first-serve basis, but the church is expected to have plenty of supplies for everyone, and 72 backpacks. The event will be held at the back of the building. There will be signs posted on where to go upon arrival.
