On Dec. 11, children can get pictures made with Santa Claus while also supporting a good cause.

Horsin’ Around with McMinnville Special Games will be holding Christmas Pictures with Santa and the Ponies. The pictures will be $8 per child and adult and all proceeds will benefit McMinnville Special Games.

McMinnville Special Games is a nonprofit organization for adults and children with special needs. Its goal is to enrich the lives of men, women, and children with special needs and it operates solely on sponsorships and donations. Co-founder and president Holly McBride says fundraising has been tough recently.

“These last two years have been really hard on us as far as fundraising goes so we are thinking outside the box,” said McBride.

This fundraising event will allow children to get their picture made with Santa and some miniature ponies. Volunteers will also be selling hot cocoa and popcorn at the fundraiser and it will be first-come first-serve. Visitors will also have a chance to pet the animals while they wait. McBride is hoping for a big turnout.

“We would certainly appreciate community’s support. We are hoping for a large turnout,” she said. “Plus the ponies are so sweet and cute!”

Pictures with Santa and the Ponies will be on Saturday, Dec. 11 from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. at the Grassy Lot on Court Square in downtown McMinnville.
