It’s not often the Tennessee Commissioner of Labor and Workforce Development pays a visit to McMinnville. The last time I remember this happening is never. So it was with great exuberance that a small, but prideful, group of local delegates gathered Thursday to greet Commissioner Burns Phillips, who was in town to learn about our proposed $5 million robotics training center that’s gaining so much momentum.Such a training facility is needed by industries in this region, which have all come to rely on advanced robotics in their manufacturing. The problem is these robots need to be programmed properly, maintained, and repaired.
