When I grabbed my notepad and camera and left the Standard office Thursday morning, I made a rather unusual announcement.“I’m going to run to the liquor store,” I said. “I should be back in about 30 minutes.”To clarify, I wasn’t running to the liquor store to buy alcohol. I was running to the liquor store to provide coverage for what will be a historic occasion.Somewhere Liquors is scheduled to open this Friday at Plaza Shopping Center, ending McMinnville’s distinction as the only town in this region without package liquor.
