The best stories are often ones which are personal to the author. Local author Gracie Brock is drawing on personal experiences for her debut children's book, "Jesus Loves Adoption." Brock, the reigning Warren County Fairest of the Fair, is the 20-year-old adopted daughter of Bill and Michelle Brock. She hopes her message helps remove the stigma of adoption and provides support to those in a similar situation.
"After eight months of hard work, I am excited to announce that I wrote and illustrated a children's book about adoption called 'Jesus Loves Adoption.' It is now available on Amazon," Brock said.
She plans to donate all proceeds from the sale of the book to Love + One International, a non-profit Brock is affiliated with, which provides life-saving medical care for children in Uganda.
"My brother John and I are adopted, and the Lord placed it on my heart a long time ago to help other adopted children. I am so excited for everyone to read my book and I hope it helps you or someone you know. God is in the details of your story," Brock said.
Aimed at adopted children and their families, the book contains colorful illustrations and heartwarming messages supported by Bible verses to help children better understand adoption.
To purchase the book, go to Amazon.com and search for "Jesus Loves Adoption." It is available for $13.
Brock hopes her book can find its way into the hands of adoptees needing comfort, and can help them share her positive outlook on it. "Love is a choice, and my parents chose me!"
