WalkwyWEB
The cost to remove this walkway at WCMS has exceeded estimates.
With the bid on the pedestrian walkways at WCMS coming in much higher than anticipated, the Board of Education has voted to negotiate with the lone bidder in hopes of reaching common ground.“If I’m going to have something done around my house, I get two bids,” said School Board member Helen Martin after learning there was only one bid received by the deadline. The lone bid came from local business Tri-State Development and was for $181,000. The amount gave board members sticker shock since the job was estimated to cost $158,000.The contract would include demolition of the large pedestrian bridge closest to Nunley Stadium.
