Bonnaroo has hooked some notable bands for its 2019 lineup – most notably one big Phish.
Legendary jam band Phish will anchor this year’s Bonnaroo Music and Arts Festival in a lineup released Tuesday. Phish is scheduled to play three sets during the four-day festival June 13-16 in Manchester. It will be the festival’s 18th year.
Kicking off Day 1 on Thursday, June 13, is the return of The Grand Ole Opry, back by popular demand for its second year.
Friday will feature entertainment from Childish Gambino, Phish, The Avett Brothers, Beach House, and Girl Talk.
On Saturday, bands include Post Malone, Hozier, The National, Jim James, and long-legged Kacey Musgraves.
Sunday will bring two sets from Phish, The Lumineers, Cardi B, and Brandi Carlile.
Festival organizers have worked to enhance the Bonnaroo experience in recent years. Two years ago, they added a Bonnaroo beach, complete with sand, lounge chairs, and tiki bar.
Last year, the festival added a laundromat where people could drop off their clothes and have them washed and folded for free. There was also a clothes exchange when visitors could drop off one item and pick up another.
Bonnaroo has a history of booking legacy rock acts like Paul McCartney, Elton John, Pearl Jam, Billy Joel, U2, Tom Petty and Neil Young.
Several DJ and electronic artists such as GRiZ, RL Grime, Odesza and Illenium are scheduled to perform this year.
