Blevins jailed for DUI with family in car

A man has been sentenced to a year in jail for wrecking with his family in the vehicle and then leaving the scene.The man, Ronald Blevins, 50, entered guilty pleas before Circuit Court Judge Bart Stanley to charges of reckless endangerment, DUI, aggravated perjury, tampering with evidence, and fourth-offense driving on a revoked license. He was ordered to serve one year of an eight-year sentence and pay $100 plus court costs.The charges come after police were contacted by a Cardinal Drive resident who said a man had slammed an Izuzu Trooper into a utility pool and asked him not to call police as he left the scene. McMinnville policeman Joseph VanBommel found the vehicle abandoned with paperwork belonging to Blevins inside.
