The Tennessee Association of Assessing Officers has named Warren County’s own Beth Martin as Middle Tennessee Assessor of the Year for 2020.

Beth Martin is currently serving her third term as Warren County Property Assessor. Prior to that, she was an employee in the department. She has a total of 19 years within the Warren County Property Assessor’s Office.

“I was truly surprised, happy and very humbled,” said Martin. “You feel like your hard work goes unnoticed and then you receive something like this. It’s greatly appreciated. Being a property assessor is really a tough job. Nobody wants to see us come around, but we’ve got a job to do and we want to do it right. It’s an honor to serve the citizens of Warren County.”

According to TAAO, the award is given to the assessor who stands out among the best in each of the three regional divisions (East, Middle and West) by demonstrating high degrees of competency, professionalism and leadership.

The Tennessee Association of Assessing Officers is a professional organization composed of the elected officials serving as Assessors of Property in Tennessee’s 95 counties. It works on behalf of the people of the state to ensure fairness and uniformity in statutes regarding the assessment of property, as well as to promote excellence through best practices and professionalism amongst those charged with this vital task.
