Pearls of Christ Church invites everyone to participate in an auction this Saturday to benefit a local pastor.

On Dec. 3, starting at 4 p.m., Pearls of Christ Church will be hosting dinner and an auction to support Friendship the Baptist Church Pastor Jason Brown. Brown fell out of a tree stand and became paralyzed from the waist down. All of the proceeds from the auction will go directly to Brown for his recovery.

BBQ plates will be sold starting at 4 tomorrow afternoon for $10. The plate includes a drink and dessert. The auction will begin at 6 p.m. “I can’t believe the outpouring of support from the community,” Candace Gentry said. “We have hundreds and hundreds of donated items.”

Among those items are a grill, a rifle, cedar chairs and gift cards from different businesses, including Walmart and Kroger. Gift baskets will also be up for bid with many different themes. A Christmas basket and a cleaning basket are among the options.

Raffle tickets can be bought for one dollar each for a chance to win prizes. The benefit will take place at the Pearls of Christ Church located at 10720 Beersheba Hwy. starting at 4 p.m. tomorrow. All the proceeds will go to Pastor Brown to assist with medical expenses.
