The idea of placing rumble strips on Highway 8 was a moot point. An issue the county Highway and Bridge Committee discussed for almost three years has ended with the knowledge the Tennessee Department of Transportation had no intension of placing them until the road was resurfaced. Commissioner Tommy Savage said he was told in 2015 by TDOT engineer Paul Deggs that no rumble strips would be placed.
