Honor Flight representative Rob Moreland.
War veterans who would like to see national monuments in their honor are being encouraged to apply for the next Middle Tennessee Honor Flight. The one-day trip flies veterans to Washington, D.C., and back, allowing them to see such landmarks as the World War II Memorial, Tomb of the Unknown Soldier at Arlington National Cemetery, the Vietnam Wall, and more.“It’s very satisfying for our veterans to get a chance to see these war memorials,” said Honor Flight representative Rob Moreland. “Most of them have never been to Washington, D.C. They got home from the war and they went to work. The World War II Memorial was not finished until 2005 so many World War II veterans have not gotten a chance to see it.”Honor Flight is free to veterans.
