They say every dollar counts.

During the month of January, every $1 donated to Helping Hands Ministry will equal $2 toward a new central heat and air unit.

“Thanks to the Southern Standard article that included our need for a heating unit replacement, an anonymous donor has offered to match dollar for dollar the money we raise during the month of January up to $5,000,” said Tammy Comfort, president of Helping Hands Ministry. “We have two units. One of those is out. We are in desperate need of a new one.”

Estimates place the cost at $5,000.

The ministry partners with Second Harvest Food Bank to provide food and assistance to less fortunate citizens in Warren County.

Along with a soup kitchen that provides a free meal twice a week, the nonprofit organization offers mobile food drives throughout the year and distributes boxes of food. Those services are offered to everyone, without income restrictions.

Being a 501(c)3 organization, all donations are tax deductible.

Comfort says any and all donations would be greatly appreciated.

Donations can be sent to Helping Hands Ministry, P.O. Box 7448, McMinnville, TN 37111.
