It is the season of giving, and Willow Branch Health and Rehabilitation is hoping the community will help them give their residents a good Christmas by taking an angel from one of their four angel trees.
These angel trees are put in the community and have angel ornaments on them with the resident’s age, sex, and a list of ideas of what to get them. Activities director Carson Rust has been organizing angel trees for around 20 years. He learned a lot along the way to improve the process. Rust says when he first started doing the angel trees, he only included the age and male or female on the angel ornaments and he received a lot of calls asking what to get them.
“I learned to put a list of ideas on there,” said Rust.
He said just because there is a list of ideas, it does not mean you cannot buy other gifts and those are just suggestions. A lot of items have already been turned in and they sometimes have to refill the angel trees.
For those looking to participate in getting a gift for Willow Branch patients there are four different locations to find a tree and all you have to do is select an angel ornament and turn in the items to Willow Tree. The locations are: Tietgens Super Rama, Three Star Mall, Roses, and Gateway Tire. If one of the trees is empty, check out the other options or check back on a different day.
The deadline to turn in items to Willow Branch is Dec. 16. Willow Branch is located at 415 Pace Street. For any additional information contact Rust at 931-668-2011.
