McMinnville Lions Club members decided over 20 years ago to forego exchanging Christmas gifts with each other and to purchase gifts for those in need. “At that time, several members were business men and women in the community who just bought what they wanted if they needed something. Everyone decided to give to others instead of giving to ourselves,” said Patsy Paquette, a McMinnville Lions Club member.This year, members donated several bags of new toys to the Rescue Squad for its annual Christmas party held at Wilma Jean’s Kitchen.“We sure do appreciate all the support we get from organizations and businesses,” said Rescue Squad member Donald Hillis.
