Warren County resident Lake Hillis was transferred from Vanderbilt Medical Center in Nashville to Children’s Healthcare of Atlanta on Friday to begin what his mother says will be an extensive rehabilitation program.The WCHS sophomore continues to recover from an accident that occurred Sept. 8 during an organized four-wheeler race at the White County Fair. Hillis was thrown from his four-wheeler while traveling at a high rate of speed and hit the ground head first which caused his injuries.“Right now they are telling us the damage is deep within his brain,” said his mother, Ann Rigsby Hawkins. “We don’t really know a lot more than that.
