A man who threatened his wife and a relative with a knife during a domestic dispute has been given three weeks in jail.The man, Corey Michael Kirby, 26, entered guilty pleas before General Sessions Judge Larry Ross to lesser charges of domestic assault and was ordered to serve 21 days of an 11-month, 29-day sentence. He stood to serve six years had he been convicted on the original charge of aggravated assault. In addition to his jail time, he must perform 40 hours public service work, attend conflict management, and forfeit the knife used in the crime.His sentence comes after deputies were called to the Briarwood Drive residence to answer a domestic call.“When I arrived, I observed a half gallon of Crown Royal on the porch and the front door was kicked in,” recalled deputy Jason Richardson.
